MasterCard Scholar, Ashesi
The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at Ashesi will be focused on helping brilliant but under-resourced students gain access to a premium education, the goal being that these students will help drive growth and development in their different communities across the continent. Ashesi was one of the nine pioneer partners of The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program when it launched in 2012, and has already welcomed 200 Scholars to campus in the past four years.
Aspire Institute Finalist
Candidates for the Aspire Leaders program receive a host of leadership, academic, and professional development resources through a tiered application structure that reaches thousands of students globally. Over 16,000 students from 120 countries applied for the Aspire Leaders Program in 2022. Students access self-assessment tools, Harvard course materials, and developmental feedback. Through a global and intellectual community, participants interact directly with world-class faculty and a global to community of peers as they grapple with questions of identity, technology, ethics, and structural change.
I am thrilled to have gotten this far and thanks to Aspire Institute for creating this opportunity for future leaders
Coca-cola Funds for Social Impact Recipient
The Coca-cola foundation launched a new partnership to support students community center projects by providing them with grants to aid in their project.
After series of applications and interviews, my project IT Hub which seeks to promote Information Technology (IT) literacy in deprived communities was selected as parts of the projects for that cycle and we received grant funding to continue impacting the lifes of many by proving practical and STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) training for these students
Ashesi D:Lab Fellow
The Ashesi D:Lab support students with innovative ideas to bring their ideals to life. During an opportunity from the D:Lab for students to summit their innovative ideas, I decided to give it a try and several shortlisting processes and pitching contest, I was selected to become a D:Lab fellow as part of the package, I received grant funding to aid me bring my idea to life and also mentorship sessions where I get to connect with mentors and people that would guide me in the successful execution of the project.
Member of Queens Commonwealth Trust Network
The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust is a growing network of young changemakers across the Commonwealth. A platform where smart ideas and insights are shared, to show that change can be brought about by anyone, anywhere. A place that sparks optimism and inspiration, where more and more people feel motivated and confident to step up and take positive action. I see this as an opportunity to network with brilliant blinds and am very honored to be part of this network
Vine Fund Recipient
The vine fund gives grants that range from $500 to $1,000 to social impact organizations in Ghana and Nigeria. According to them, giving back is part of existence. As a result, Foundervine chooses to grow funds from its employers and communities to help mission-driven companies start again. It was an honor to have my project, Lizzy Fashion Center select as part of the 2022 cohort. Lizzy Fashion Center seeks to solve the problem of unemployment by providing skills training for the youth
2nd Place for Ashesi's Most Enterprising Pitch competition
I had 2nd place for the Ashesi’s Most Enterprising Business Pitch Competition was organized by the Ashesi Career Services department to provide a platform for young entrepreneurs of the University to showcase their ideas and connect with industry experts. This is in line with Ashesi’s mission to develop the next generation of ethical and entrepreneurial leaders in Africa. Students who signed up for the competition pitched their businesses before a panel to contests for various prizes
Ashesi Parliament Design Challenge 1st Runner Up
The Ashesi parliament challenge provided the opportunity for students to provide creative solutions to some of the world's problems. My zeal to develop creative solutions for some of the world's challenging problem motivated me to take part in the competition. As part of by solution, I developed a biogas digester to solve the energy problems save in comities with result in the cutting down of firewood to serve as a source of fuel. I was 1st runner up with my design
Igniting Dreams 3rd Runner up
The Igniting Dreams Prize is a seed capital that is awarded to the top five (5) most promising entrepreneurs of every fellowship cohort. The Prize includes a 6-month virtual business development accelerator aimed at getting the Prize winners to be investor-ready and helping them to develop and scale up their businesses.
Ubora Awards (Community Engagement Award Winner
The Community Engagement Award is one of the categories of the Ubora Execellence Award. This award is given to a student that has contributed greatly to his or her community through the impact they create. For me, it was an honor to be given the community engagement award because it's a testament to the level of impact I create in my community and wherever I find myself
Climate Awareness 2nd Place Winner
My project was an App for farmers. The App is an innovative solution designed to empower farmers in Ghana with tools and information to adapt to climate change and enhance agricultural productivity. The app also seeks to offer real-time weather forecasts, pest alerts, and agricultural practices through a user-friendly interface. It enables informed decision-making and risk mitigation by providing crop guides, soil management, and water-saving techniques, thereby enhancing productivity and sustainability in response to climate change
